Release Date: Friday, July 2nd 2010
Calling all software fans. Microsoft Corporation, the ubiquitous technology titan, brings its annual Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center (801 Mount Vernon Place) on Sunday, July 11 through Thursday, July 15, where its slogan, “Your potential, Our passion,” will be put to the test.
High-tech experts and novices attending the five-day forum are encouraged to bring their business challenges and ideas and leave with solutions and connections. All are urged to connect with each other and with Microsoft staff to learn about the company’s latest programs, strategies and revolutionary technology.
Playing into the techie vibe, DC will begin providing Wi-Fi hotspots in Downtown’s Chinatown and Penn Quarter neighborhoods this month so that local visitors, businesses and residents can tap into an array of technology, from smart phones to laptops. Another plus: the hotspots will remain in place after the conference ends. Yippee!
In addition to the Convention Center, other conference venues will include the Verizon Center (601 F Street) the Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel (999 9th Street), the Grand Hyatt Washington (1000 H Street) and the Washington Marriott at Metro Center (775 12th Street).
On a budget? Six different admission passes, ranging in price from $150 to $1,795, are available. For more information and to register, visit http://digitalwpc.com.
