Release Date: Friday, September 2nd 2011

District of Pi Pizzeria (910 F Street) opened in 7,500 SF last month and soon will be joined by a new neighbor, Anthropologie (950 F Street), either this month or next. Both have signed leases with Douglas Development (702 H Street), the commercial real estate developer that has turned Downtown into a retail mecca.

The St. Louis-based deep and thin crust pizza restaurant has two bars, a mezzanine, exposed brick walls, unfinished floors, and reclaimed fixtures and furnishings. A basement lounge will open in the future. Meanwhile, diners can devour plenty of gluten-free fare upstairs, as well as appetizers, salads, and desserts. Pi on Wheels, the restaurant chain’s food truck, will continue to roam Downtown streets. Also coming: a customer loyalty rewards program.
Anthropologie will open by October 7. The women’s apparel and accessory store was in talks to lease space from Douglas Development back in 2008, but the deal fell through. The Philadelphia-based chain is owned by Urban Outfitters, which has a store by the same name at 737 7th Street.
