Notice anything different over at Matchbox (713 H Street)? The vintage pizza bistro now has a larger bar, better air circulation, a new floor and vestibule, and a more integrated rear section (the drywall is out; a brick wall is in). Even its authentic, wood-fired masonry oven was recently serviced, by a craftsman from Maine, no less. Reinvesting in space and new eateries is top of mind for Matchbox's partners. In addition to Matchbox locations on Capitol Hill and Rockville Pike, others will open at 14th and T Streets and in Merrifield, Virginia, next year. Ted's Bulletin, a 1930s-style upscale restaurant, will join them on 14th and S Streets. For more information about Matchbox, click here.
