Release Date: Wednesday, December 2nd 2009

The world-famous Rockettes, of Radio City Music Hall fame, will bring their brand of eye-high kicks and holiday cheer to the Verizon Center (601 F Street) on Friday, December 18 through Sunday, December 20 for the first time ever.
The New York-based precision performance dancers, known for their high-energy, tap-infused moves, are a holiday favorite and have been a mainstay at Radio City for nearly eight decades. Of course, the dancers have changed over the years, but the Rockette’s signature “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” dance routine continues to delight.
In 2008, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular show toured 18 North American cities. The show has been expanded to 30 cities, including DC, this year. To promote the show the Rockettes were in town on Friday, December 4 and could be spotted on the Ellipse of the White House visiting the National Christmas Tree from 12:00 noon to 12:30 pm and at Macy’s (1201 G Street), where they will collected donations to support the Salvation Army’s annual kettle bell drive.
Grab the kids and relive those old family memories. The Verizon Center will host seven live performances: Friday, December 18 at 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm; Saturday, December 19 at 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm; and Sunday, December 20 at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Ticket prices start at $52.50.
