A Snapshot in Time

Release Date: Friday, January 27th 2012

Penn Camera Exchange, the premier digital camera and equipment supplier, filed for bankruptcy earlier this month, immediately shuttering five locations and leaving 840 E Street and two other locations open, for now. In business nearly 60 years, the camera store known and respected for its “Value, Selection, Expertise,” prided itself on being a part of the neighborhoods it served, but couldn’t beat back slumping sales. The Downtown store began liquidating inventory on January 5, a day after the bankruptcy announcement. A special clearance sale—10% off all cameras and lenses; 20% off all dark rooms and cases; and 30% off all albums and frames—continues.
