Got jokes, or just love them? The Riot Act Comedy Theater (801 E Street), Downtown’s only comedy club, is the place for you. The barrel of laughs begin at the grand opening on Thursday, August 11.

Both local and national comedians, including Dick Gregory, Rob Cantrell, Judy Gold, Jim Florentine, and Don Jamieson, will grace the new night spot’s stage. In addition to headliners, the Riot Act will feature a comedy school, showroom and theatre rentals, and a hire-a-comic service designed to enliven private parties, corporate functions, and fundraisers.

Open Mic Night—a mishmash of amateurs, veterans, and giveaways, and destined to be a crowd pleaser—will be free, if you wear a Riot Act Comedy theater T-shirt.
