Think you’re an expert on DC-based memorials? Visit a new interactive online map at www.ncpc.gov/memorials and test your know-how. Developed by the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) and the National Park Service (NPS), it’s an easy way to locate and learn the history of 130 federal memorials ranging from the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial (400 7th Street ) to the new Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial on the National Mall. You can display monuments by themes such as American Presidents, Military, Local History, and Arts & Science. Fans of Foursquare, the location-based social networking site, also can track the number of memorials they’ve visited, add photos and tips, and compete with others for a spot on the Hall of Fame, which lists those users with the most check-ins. To view a short video highlighting a few lesser known memorials, visit  www.ncpc.gov/cinema.
