Dish out the dough, if you expect to settle into an office on Pennsylvania Avenue NW, among the world’s most famous thoroughfares. With average office rents of $80.25 per square foot, America’s Main Street placed fifth on Jones Lang LaSalle’s study of the 40 most expensive major streets in North America. No surprise there. With the US president on one end and members of Congress on the other, who can argue? Sand Hill Road (Menlo Park, California); Fifth Avenue (New York City), Greenwich Avenue (Greenwich, Connecticut), and University Avenue (Silicon Valley, California), all placed ahead of Pennsylvania Avenue with per square rents of $113.64, $97.14, $89.86, and $83.16, respectively.
