Just in time to take advantage of all those renewed aspirations for a healthy, more slimmed down new year, are two gyms scheduled to open soon in Downtown: Crossfit Metro Station (1401 New York Avenue) and The Art of Spyn (950 F Street). Crossfit, focused on strength and conditioning, plans to open early this year in 5,800 square feet (SF) of space in a building that won the Washington Business Journal's Best Real Estate Deals of 2008 award in the rehab/renovation/re-use category. The Art of Spyn plans to open in the Atlantic Building--owned by Douglas Development and also home to the Anthropologie clothing, accessories and home décor store--in March and will occupy 4,000 SF. It will offer a combination of high-intensity cycling and restorative to challenging yoga classes.
