Release Date: Wednesday, July 8th 2009

Calling all non-profit arts organizations. The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH) is taking applications for grants up to $25,000 through July 27.
Thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, grants will be available to provide salary support for critical staff members whose jobs are in jeopardy of being eliminated or have been eliminated as a result of the current economic climate. The grants also can be used to offset the cost of fees for previously engaged artists or contractual personnel, or both, to maintain or expand their employment. Once allocated, funds must be spent within the grant period, July 27, 2009 through September 30, 2010.
Non-profit organizations with: 1) arts at the core of their mission statements; 2) a principal place of business in DC; and 3) both federal and DC tax exempt status (taxes must be in good standing for one year prior to the application deadline) may apply. In addition, all organizations must have received a DCCAH grant within the two most recent fiscal years.
DCCAH staff is available to help your organization develop the most effective grant application possible. For more information, visit http://dcarts.dc.gov, or contact Moshe Adams at moshe.adams@dc.gov or 202.724.5613.
