Walgreens pharmacy, Yo! Sushi restaurant and Panera Bread are all coming to 801 7th Street, also known as Gallery Square, according to a recent Washington Post article. The retail giants’ presence will rejuvenate the northwest corner of 7th and H Streets next to the Chinatown Arch. Last year, Douglas Development (702 H Street) partnered with McCaffery Interests, Inc., a Chicago-based real estate firm, to purchase the boarded up property, formerly occupied by CVS. They broke ground on the 55,000 square-foot (SF) mixed-use development in the fall and expect it will be completed this spring.
Dangerously Delicious Pies also recently signed a lease with Douglas Development to move into 901 7th Street, now occupied by tenants such as Destination DC and TD Bank. Dangerously Delicious Pies, owner of a mobile food truck and a Northeast brick-and-mortar restaurant of the same name, plans to open Downtown in June. Yummy.
