Release Date: Friday, January 9th 2009

Ready for a unique inaugural experience? DC’s creative communities will converge on January 20 at 8:00 pm for the Art of Change Ball, an inaugural celebration that will meld together visual and performing arts, fire dancing, live music and multiple dance floors at the Warehouse Complex on 7th Street and New York Avenue.
Billed as DC’s inaugural block party, the ball will occupy three separate venues at Downtown’s innovative arts complex to celebrate President-elect Barack Obama’s administration. Partygoers will delight in several offerings. The Arts of Change Galleries will showcase artworks created just for the occasion. DJs from across the mid-Atlantic will come together to spin a variety of musical styles on two dance floors and the Variety Stage will feature everything from belly dancing and the spoken word to comedy. Guests will also enjoy fire dancers while wiggling their own hips in a heated outdoor tent. Is that creative enough for you?
The Art of Change is presented by Artomatic and Playa del Fuego and supported by corporate sponsor Scion and two location sponsors, the Warehouse Theater and Douglas Development. The Downtown BID, along with several other organizations, serves as a supporting organization. Tickets for the ball are $50.
