Get ready to join the car free movement. During Car Free Day on Wednesday, September 22, many DC residents will help celebrate sustainable transportation by leaving their vehicles at home.
This year, together with thousands of Washington metropolitan area residents, they will either walk, carpool, vanpool, telework, bike, or ride public transportation. They will not be alone. People in 1,500 cities in 40 countries will join this international effort to reduce harmful environmental impacts in favor of promoting a greener environment.
As in the past, giveaways, prizes and more will be available at 700 F Street in Downtown. Take the car free pledge and be eligible to enter into a raffle for additional prizes. For more information, visit www.carfreemetrodc.com.
