The Park at Fourteenth

920 14th St NW
Washington, DC 20005

202.737.PARK (7275)
www.theparkat14th.com/

Hours: M-W Closed (available for private events) Th 5p-2a, F 5p-3a, Sa 6p-3a, Su 7p-2a

The restaurant features creative American classics, from vine ripened tomato soup with a crouton of grilled artisinal cheese and tomato concasse, to short ribs two ways: slow roasted oven braised BBQ short ribs & classically braised beef short ribs.  For dessert, offerings include a fresh home made cinnamon sugar doughnut with a frozen cappuccino custard topped with a cool froth cream foam. The menu is a collaboration between Chefs Lois Spencer and James Balster.

The first two floors are devoted to dinner service, where guests can watch the chefs at work in an exhibition kitchen creating their take on classic American cuisine. Guests can also saddle up to the bar and enjoy great bar food, along with handcrafted cocktails from a “bar chef” who makes seasonal creations from scratch, poaching pears, macerating cherries, freshly squeezing juices, and adding herbs and spices that one would expect to find in an entrée as opposed to a cocktail. The well-stocked bar includes unusual cordials and liqueurs as well as single malts and small batch bourbons.

The top two floors, with incredible treetop views of the park, serve as lounge areas and private event space. Open Thursday through Saturday evenings, the lounge will feature DJs playing an eclectic blend of classics, modern dance music and other music geared towards those enjoying the evening. Look for unique events such as culinary and wine tastings, art gallery openings and other cultural happenings to keep things interesting.
