- Created by an act of Congress in 1980, the National Building Museum is America's premier cultural institution dedicated to exploring and celebrating architecture, design, engineering, construction, and urban planning. As a private, nonprofit institution, the National Building Museum relies on the support of individuals, corporations, and foundations to continue its vital work.- Groups of 10 or more can schedule a specially arranged tour of the Museum. These tours offer access to areas of the Museum usually closed to the public. It is suggested that groups allot two hours for their visit to the Museum so that they can view Museum exhibitions and visit the Museum Shop and Blueprints Cafe.- Museum tour hours: M-Sa 10a - 3p; Su 12p - 3p- Free admission!
