The Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington and its Lillian and Albert Small Jewish Museum are housed in the historic Adas Israel Synagogue, listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the oldest surviving synagogue in the District of Columbia. The Society maintains a permanent collection which includes letters, scrapbooks, oral histories, photographs, ritual objects and textiles documenting the history of local Jewish organizations and families. - Tours available- Group tours welcome by appointment only- Free, donation accepted.- Oldest synagogue in Washington, D.C.
