The JW Marriott Washington, DC, is supporting Earth Day 2010 by creating a special menu of refreshing eco-cocktails and organic summer white wines by the glass, to help raise awareness for rainforest preservation.
The special beverage menu will be available at JW Marriott’s Bar 1331, throughout the summer months. Cocktails are $12.00 and the organic wines by the glass start at $9.00. Thirty percent of the proceeds from sales of each beverage on the new menu will be donated toward the protection and preservation of 1.4 million acres of endangered rainforest in the Amazon, called the Juma Sustainable Development Reserve.
A $1 contribution to the Juma Reserve helps offset the average carbon generated per occupied guest room per night at the JW Marriott. Patrons of Bar 1331 will also have the option to make an additional $10 donation to their check, to help offset the carbon footprint of 10 room nights.
