Catherine Clinton takes the Ford’s Theatre stage on Tuesday, April 6, for a discussion of her book Mrs. Lincoln: A Life. An intimate portrait of the remarkable life of Mary Todd Lincoln, Clinton’s book thoughtfully addresses the misfortunes of Mary Lincoln: the horror of the American Civil War, the deaths of three children, her husband’s tragic assassination and the persistent media scrutiny that contributed to her mental decline.

Ford’s Theatre Society presents a series of free readings and book signings with Lincoln historians Allen Guelzo, Catherine Clinton and James Swanson in early 2010. These events are offered as part of the 4 p.m. timed-entry schedule for Ford’s Theatre (4 p.m. Museum entry; 4:30 p.m. theatre entry; 4:45 p.m. author discussion; 5:30 p.m. book signing in Ford’s Theatre Lobby).

Tickets are free. Advance reservations are recommended; a convenience fee of $1.50 per ticket is charged for advance reservations. Visit website for additional information and to reserve a space.
