Female Jazz Vocalist

Leslie Summey started her singing career in an Italian restaurant singing opera and Broadway tunes. She joined the Navy and the United States Navy Band, where she was the vocalist for their big band, the Commodores. She has performed in the White House and in an African village. Her greatest joy is singing and dancing with her five children. In 2008, Leslie was named the Ruby Award winner in the Billie Holiday Vocal Competition.

The Jazz in the Garden Series is a free concert series featuring an array of artists performing various styles of jazz from swing to progressive to Latin every Friday evening at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden come rain or shine.
