Carsten Boe Trio
Django Jazz from Oslo, Norway
Carsten Boe Trio brings the legacy of Django Reinhardt into the new milennium. In a unique and breath-taking way, this trio presents both old jazz standards and their own original compositions. Carsten Boe is accompanied by two eminent jazz musicians: Svein Otto Aarbostad (bass) from Hot Club de Norvege and the French-Norwegian Axel Jean Viale (rhythm guitar). Earlier this year, Carsten Boe Trio received excellent reviews for their debut album Below Zero, and in December it was ranked among the top five Norwegian albums in 2009 (Dag og Tid).
The Jazz in the Garden Series is a free concert series featuring an array of artists performing various styles of jazz from swing to progressive to Latin every Friday evening at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden come rain or shine.
Concerts are held inside the Pavilion Café in case of inclement weather. To learn more about Jazz in the Garden concerts and performers, please call (202) 289-3360.
