Arts on Foot is an annual celebration of the arts featuring free events the whole family can enjoy, this year spanning 4 days. The Downtown DC BID, the Pennsylvania Quarter Neighborhood Association, Harman Center for the Arts, along with several arts organizations come together to promote local and regional artists as well as neighboring arts attractions.

Arts on Foot highlights include: more than 90 artists selling works of fine art and crafts at the Art Market; a guided and self-guided tour of Downtown art venues, Downtown restaurants offering delicious samples at minimal prices; performing artists providing live entertainment; and area museums, theatres and cultural institutions hosting a variety of tours,activities and demonstrations.

This year, we have expanded and partnered with the Shakespeare Theatre at the Harman Center for the Arts. Arts on Foot attendees will have an opportunity to see a production preview for the fall arts season from 20 local performing arts and theater organizations, every 2 hours. ‘Alternative Art Space’ is another addition to Arts on Foot. Using lobbies and unused raw building spaces, local art organizations will turn these spaces into an exhibition, which will be on the Arts on Foot tours.
